Posting rules & prohibited items

1. Prohibited items and services

• Weapons, firearms and their parts, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and items designed to injure (including knives sold as weapons, tasers and pepper spray).
• Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, prescription-only medicines, and unapproved health products or supplements with medical claims.
• Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaping products.
• Stolen goods, or goods you cannot show you own. Phones with a blocked, blacklisted or altered IMEI, or locked to someone else's account. Vehicles without valid registration documents, or with altered chassis or engine numbers.
• Counterfeit, replica or copied branded goods, pirated software, films, music or games, and devices to bypass copy protection or access paid services without paying.
• Protected animals and plants, ivory, coral, animal parts and any wildlife trade restricted by Sri Lankan law. Pets may only be offered where lawful and humane.
• Identity cards, passports, driving licences, official documents or seals, SIM cards registered to someone else, bank cards or accounts, and personal data about other people.
• Adult content, sexual services, or anything involving minors in any inappropriate way.
• Loans and money lending, investment or crypto schemes, pyramid or multi-level schemes, lotteries and gambling, and “work from home” or job offers that ask for an upfront fee.
• Government-restricted or recalled items, hazardous chemicals, and items that require a licence you do not hold.
• Anything else that is illegal to sell, own or advertise in Sri Lanka.

2. Rules for every ad

• Post only items and services you own or are authorised to sell or offer.
• Be accurate: the title, description, condition, photos and price must match the actual item. Mention known faults. Use your own photos, not photos copied from others.
• Choose the correct category and location. One item per ad; do not post the same item many times.
• Do not put phone numbers, links, email addresses or other contact details in the title, description or photos — use the contact fields.
• Do not use misleading prices (for example “Rs 1” to attract clicks), keyword stuffing, or offensive or hateful language.
• Wanted ads must be for things you genuinely want to buy. Free ads must be genuinely free.

3. Your responsibility

When you post, you confirm that you own the item or have the right to sell it, that it is legal to sell, that the ad is accurate, and that you are responsible for the sale. LokuPodi is not a party to deals between users — see Terms of Service, section 4.

4. What we do when rules are broken

• We review ads before and after they are published. We may reject, edit (for example correct the category or remove contact details), or remove any ad that breaks these rules or the law.
• We may suspend or ban accounts for serious or repeated breaches, and we may report illegal activity to the Sri Lanka Police or other authorities.
• If you see an ad that breaks these rules, use the Report button on the ad.
